Dino Surf and Skate was established in 2020 by the three founders, Avi, Nate and Simon. Brothers Avi Rosan and Nate Rosan have been friends with Simon Vulliez for years and the idea for Dino Surf and Skate was developed during the height of the global pandemic, when the three went surfing at 5am one morning, as they often do. The high school students spent countless hours brainstorming ideas for the lifestyle concept, after seeing that mainstream surf brands did not capture their vision for what a surfing, skating, and adventure sports lifestyle brand could be. They started with graphic designs for the clothing, developed by Nate, currently an art student at the prestigious Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts, otherwise known as the “Fame” school in New York City.  Nate started drawing at a very young age and knew early on he had an eye for art and photography. He finds inspiration at the beach, watching ocean surfing videos and following photography on Instagram.

 

Avi and Simon focus on marketing, fulfillment of orders and day to day operations. Given the unique situation of being in school remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic, they had time to learn how to start a business from the ground up, from registering it, designing the website, setting up credit card, shipping and sales tax accounts, to fulfillment and managing customer service. The time also allowed them to develop truly unique pieces and a look that captures their aesthetic. The boy goal is to curate a brand that incorporates the founder's unique artwork, with surfing and skating, something unique in the retail industry.

 

As high school students, they are managing to balance it all - after their school day and work is finished, they devote time in the evening to the brand.

Dino Surf and Skate takes donates a portion of all sales to charities devoted to the environment and access for all to the joy of surfing.
